Smithville Montessori Academy’s Dollar Bill Savings Program

Dear Parents,
We are excited to introduce a new program to SMA families. We have partnered with Platte Valley Bank to offer an opportunity for children to open a savings account, which will be free from common restrictions and regulations that most banks apply to an account of this nature. Aside from the convenience of not having a required amount of money in the account, the children will have the opportunity to participate in “bank deposit days.” Every two weeks, Platte Valley Bank representatives will come to SMA and set up a “mini bank” allowing each child to bring ANY amount (coins included) of money to deposit in their account, helping each child to fill out deposit slips, and keeping parents up-to-date on the balance of the savings account.
This week a letter explaining the program and a permission form for your child to join should go home. They will either be located in your child’s folder in their classroom (Preprimary and Primary) or next to the classroom sign-in/sign-out sheets (Infant/Toddler, Kindergarten and School-Age). We ask that forms be returned by June 18th. If your child is not currently attending SMA regularly, but will be returning, he or she may enroll in the program at that time.
This program is open to ALL students, regardless of age or enrollment status (part-time, full-time, or before/after school). If you did not receive a packet please stop by the office and we will be glad to assist you in getting one. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
